The Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce kicks off a new program this month for Generation X. The new program, the Boise Young Professionals, is targeted at ages 21 to 40.
“The group was created to attract and retain young talent to Boise,” said Ben Quintana, programs manager for the Chamber of Commerce.
Quintana said his research shows industries are concerned about a possible workforce shortage when the baby boomers begin to retire. One of the new program’s goals is to make sure there is not such a shortage in Boise.
The Boise Young Professionals is separate from the Chamber of Commerce, and open to non-members, Quintana said. It will be a venue for young professionals to connect, share ideas, and get involved in the community, he said.
The first meeting is Oct. 24 in the Union Block Building. For more information, contact Ben Quintana at 472-5212 or go to www.boisechamber.org.
