We’ll start today in Seattle, where a couple who moved to the area from Idaho are being ridiculed for a letter to the editor where they complain about the cost of living in Seattle compared to their former home. Hey, we have a P.F. Chang's in downtown Boise – there’s no need to move to Seattle.
The Idaho Statesman reports today about a former New Orleans resident who now owns the Boise Tour train. (We first reported the story almost two weeks ago.) Earlier this week the Statesman had an interesting story about a local entrepreneur who has some people angry over their investment in her energy-drink company.
An Idaho Falls television station, in a report on this state’s beer and wine tax, makes the all-too-common mistake of claiming agriculture is the largest contributor to Idaho’s economy. Uh … no.
Speaking of driving the economy, Gov. Otter was in Idaho Falls earlier this week for the groundbreaking at the Center for Advanced Energy Studies, a $17 million collaboration between the state’s universities and Idaho National Laboratory. Otter says “we're gonna grow a generation of energy wizards."
Finally, Boise-based Washington Group International is working with investigators in a case out of Macomb, Michigan. A WGI employee was having trouble with her husband before going missing during on a business trip to Puerto Rico, and people are suspicious.
