- A Salt Lake City man who netted more than $15 million from at least 185 investors in Idaho, Utah, Arizona, and California in an investment scam was sentenced to five years in federal prison.
Dennis T. Wynn, 53, pleaded guilty in November to mail fraud in a scheme that he operated from 1999 to 2002, according to the Salt Lake Tribune. The Wynn Company was in the business of leasing and selling used vehicles to people with high-risk credit histories.
- Northwest Nazarene University announces the death of Vice President of University Advancement Gary Skaggs, 58. Mr. Skaggs died at a Boise medical center where he had been hospitalized since February 18, 2008. He was diagnosed with brain tumors in early January. Time and location for a memorial service are still being determined.
