  • Earlier this week, the Burley City Council decided to issue a legal warning to a the Pacific Ethanol plant owners. The neighbors are raising a stink about the industry that claims it’s producing a cleaner-burning fuel but, according to one neighbor, the odor is unreasonable, almost a eye-watering stench.

City ordinances worked with the plant, neighbors knew it was coming in, but none was aware of the potential for the pungent odor. No one representing Pacific Ethanol attended the meeting.

  • A large crowd and dignitaries from both countries gathered earlier this week as East Idaho met a deligation from Japan.

Idaho Falls Mayor Jared Fuhriman and the Tokai-Mura Mayor Murakami each commemorated the cities' 27 year relationship, which many describe as an educational exchange of business, civics and culture.
