Microsoft Corp. plans to consolidate its Boise operations by occupying about 35,000 square feet in the Idaho Independent Bank Building, 401 W. Front St., in September, Boise Operations Director Amy Bailey said. Tenant improvements are under way on three floors of the building, where the company leased space last spring. The company two years ago expanded in Boise by acquiring business-intelligence software company ProClarity Corp. Bailey said nearly 100 people work for Microsoft in Boise – in two former ProClarity buildings near Ninth and Miller streets and in C.W. Moore Plaza on South Fifth Street, recent home of the company’s longtime Boise sales office.

Leases are expiring, and Microsoft will increase efficiency and have room for some growth by consolidating operations in the Idaho Independent Bank Building, she said. The building opened in 2007.

Local economic development officials said in broadcast and published reports that the office move bodes well for Microsoft’s continued presence in Boise.

Bailey would not disclose how many jobs the company would add in Boise, or when, but said: “There is some growth built into our plan.”

Microsoft plans to hold an open house after it moves to the Idaho Independent Bank Building, she said.

You’ve gradually expanded ownership of [...]
