The strip mall at Broadway and Main streets in downtown Boise has seen some changes lately: In addition to Aladdin Traditional Egyptian Cuisine shutting down a few weeks ago, TCBY closed its doors for good Saturday night.

TCBY will be replaced by Qdoba Mexican Grill, which will open in the spring and occupy both the freshly vacated TCBY space and the vacant space next door. In turn, Aladdin has vacated what was originally two retail spaces. The building’s owner has a lease out to another prospective restaurant tenant, which would occupy the space on the left, said Marcie Lake of Hawkins Co. The space on the right would still be available

Besides the Aladdin space, the only remaining vacancy in Broadway One Eleven is the space once occupied by Mr. Formal. Liberty Tax has signed a lease for the space vacated by a PCS Pro Sprint store.

The strip mall is still home to Dong Khann (a Vietnamesse restaurant), Singers Instacash, Fascinations Hair-n-Nails, Avon, Blimpie and Boise Box Office.

Qdoba has two locations in Meridian and two in Nampa, but this new store represents their first entry into Boise. The first Qdoba Mexican Grill opened in Denver in 1995, and the chain now has over 450 restaurants throughout the country. Qdoba is a wholly owned subsidiary of Jack in the Box Inc.

You’ve groomed a solid core of good leaders who are trusted, share common values, are committed to the firm’s long-term success and are at least two generations deep. You’ve gradually expanded ownership of [...]
