“Boise Valley is a rising star in the Mountain States,” Ben Quintana, executive director of the Boise Young Professionals reported from the 16th annual Regional Leadership Conference in Sun Valley.

In messages texted from the conference, Quintana tweeted that reports presented by various site selectors said “strength’s = cost of: electricity, real estate, living index, labor, employee benefits and others.

“weaknesses = population w/4-year degree & Ph.D., airline flights, Corp. & personal tax rates, lack of diversity in workforce.”

The topic for this year's conference, developed by the Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce, is “Improving Treasure Valley’s Economic Future: What we need to do!”

More than 200 people were expected at the conference that began on Sunday evening and will continue through Tuesday.
