A hoped-for fall 2010 opening has been ruled out for Concordia University’s new Boise law school.
The university’s president told the IBR in December 2008 if the school’s fund-raising goal of $7 million could be reached by March 2009, the law school would be on track for a fall 2010 opening.
University spokeswoman Jeanie-Marie Price said in an e-mail April 22 that the university’s intent is now to open in the fall of 2011.
She said the school has made “significant progress” on its fundraising efforts but wouldn’t indicate a dollar amount. In December, the school had raised about $1.5 million.
Concordia has proposed to build the law school at 500 S. 10th Street, though Price said “a conversation (about the location) is still under way and all options are being explored.”
She said other current efforts include program development, further fundraising, personnel and accreditation.
Concordia first began having discussions about starting a law school in Boise in November 2007.
