McCall Air parent McCall Aviation on May 1 acquired Salmon-based Salmon Air. The acquisition creates the largest backcountry and scheduled commuter air service provider in Idaho, McCall Aviation said in a release May 11. No interruptions in service to current Salmon Air customers are planned.

“Incorporating Salmon Air’s operations into ours results in a better product for our customers,” McCall Aviation President Dan Scott said. “We now provide an expanded fleet, better pricing, more overall capacity and an expanded base or operations in Salmon.”

Transaction details were not released.

The acquisition creates efficiency and synergy between two well-known Idaho flight operations, Salmon Air Flight Operations Director Dan Schroeder said. Salmon Air President JoAnn Wolters said McCall Air has an impressive reputation for customer service.

McCall Aviation, with a fleet of 16 airplanes, operates as a commuter air carrier and as a fixed-base operator based in central Idaho. It operates charter and commuter flights as McCall Air and Salmon Air, and full-service fixed-base operations in McCall and Salmon. The company specializes in on-demand charters to the Idaho backcountry and scheduled city-to-city commuter flights throughout the intermountain West. McCall Aviation has facilities in McCall, Salmon and Boise, and seasonal operations in Stanley.
