A Boise restaurant has reached an agreement with the Idaho Potato Commission over the name of the business, the Idaho Fry Company. The commission said the name, which is being changed to the Boise Fry Company, violated a federal certification mark assuring buyers the spuds bagged and marked as "Idaho potatoes" were grown in the state.

The commission gave the restaurant until August to change the name, saying it violated a federal certification mark assuring buyers the spuds bagged and marked as ”Idaho potatoes'' were grown in the state.

The restaurant offers a variety of potatoes from Idaho, California, and other states.

Idaho Fry Company co-owner Blake Lingle says the business has come to an agreement with the commission and will change the name of the restaurant to the Boise Fry Company.
