Three new members have been named to the statewide growth initiative Idaho Smart Growth.

“We are continuing to expand our statewide reach, with asome people from eastern Idaho and some experience which we have not had on our board previously,” Executive Director Rachel Winer said.

Those new members include:

  • Robert E. Chambers is currently the Planning and Development Services Director, with the City of Pocatello, Idaho
  • Brett Adler is the Founder of Boise Rec Fest, Chair of Boise Young Professionals’ Community & Civic Involvement Work Team and Chair-Elect of the BYP Leadership Team.
  • Kathy Rinaldi is a Teton County Commissioner who previously served as the Director of Valley Advocates for Responsible Development (VARD).

Idaho Smart Growth focuses on activities around communities and neighborhoods statewide. Its efforts are directed to support residents and leaders to create good alternatives for the future.

Winer said, livable neighborhoods and communities are built by creating housing, transportation and employment. The think tank works to create incentives that allow communities to grow in a way that makes sense with support from businesses, organizations, and individual members.
