The Idaho Department of Finance has imposed a “cease-and-desist” order against Idaho insurance agent Jerry Ward and his business, Med-Life.

The agency alleges that Ward, who operates in both southwestern and northern Idaho, offered and sold at least one unregistered “certificate of deposit” and misrepresented or omitted important information in connection with the sale of the investment interests.

The state also alleges that Ward acted as an unlicensed broker-dealer.

Ward did not admit or deny the allegations, though he consented to the order and agreed to never again provide investment advice or sell securities in or from Idaho.

He also acknowledged that the agency may continue to investigate and initiate other enforcement proceedings to establish restitution and civil penalties or to prove other violations.
