Selecting the best job candidates and retaining top employees as the economy recovers is the focus of a July 14 employer workshop sponsored by the Department of Labor Employer Association of Ada County.

Kandy Weaver of Kandy Weaver and Associates will help participants identify the reasons employees stay, learn key elements to keep them engaged in the emerging economy and outline strategies for selecting and keeping workers.

“The first people likely to leave a company when the economy improves will be the top performers – individuals with the most marketable skills who want to improve their situation,” said Alisa Bondurant, the Department of Labor consultant organizing the workshop. “Employers need policies to hold on to their best employees, those who are making their businesses successful.”

The two-hour workshop begins at 7:30 a.m. in the Salmon Room of the Meridian School District building, 1303 East Central Drive in Meridian.

Weaver is a managing partner with Assessment Leaders of Idaho and a member of the advisory councils for Small Business for the Boise Chamber, the Assistance League and St. Luke’s medical centers in Meridian and Eagle.

The $15 registration, payable both in advance or at the door, includes a continental breakfast. Reservations can be made by contracting Alisa Bondurant at (208) 332-3575 ext 3545 or by e-mail at alisa.bondurant@labor.idaho.gov.

You’ve done everything right. You’ve adopted the concept of “perpetuity” so that the firm now thinks and plans for the long term. You’ve groomed a solid core of good leaders who are trusted, share common values, are committed to the firm’s long-term success and are at least two generations deep. You’ve gradually expanded ownership of [...]
