CRSA, a community-building development group, has been selected for planning and designing the Destination Downtown project in Meridian.

Destination Downtown is focused on developing a downtown core that is the heart of the Meridian community, the home of local businesses, and the hub of Treasure Valley enterprise, culture, and social activities, according to a release.

CRSA, which has offices in Idaho Falls and Utah, has the expertise and experience for the project, MDC board chairman Craig Slocum said in a release.

CRSA officials expect to be completed with the design and planning by January 2010. A public meeting has been scheduled from 6-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 23, in the old Meridian City Hall, at 33 East Idaho Avenue.

The goal for the downtown project is to define a vision, identify potential opportunities and strategie, and strengthen the downtown's role in the Meridian community and Treasure Valley.

CRSA has worked with Mountain West communities for more than three decades, and has licenses in 11 states.

The MDC contract is not expected to exceed $145,000.

You’ve gradually expanded ownership of [...]
