Community ideas for the future of Meridian’s downtown are now visual for all to see.

Salt Lake City-based planning firm CRSA took ideas and input and recently sketched “vignettes,” or “visual concepts that showcase the vision Meridian citizens have for their downtown core,” according to a press release.

Community members wanted to see features like a baseball field, a transit station and a farmers market come to downtown. The vignettes also included gateways and anchors, along with depictions of downtown districts including a traditional city core, a warehouse district, an entertainment and hospitality district, a neighborhood preservation area and more.

Photos and videos of the vignettes can be found at Meridian’s Destination: Downtown blog.

The public can offer comments and suggestions at the Web site.
