The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality seeks public comment on a proposed Tier II air quality operating permit and permit to construct for the Micron Technology semiconductor manufacturing facility in Boise.
The deadline for submitting written comments addressing air quality concerns regarding the proposed permit is 5 p.m. Mountain time Dec. 21.
The proposed permit establishes a cap on certain air pollutant emissions to below Title V regulatory permitting thresholds and specifies the procedures that Micron must follow to assure that emissions continue to meet federal and state health-based standards, the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality said in a release.
The department said it has determined that operation of the facility under the proposed permit conditions will not cause or contribute to violation of any ambient air quality standard and will not injure or unreasonably affect human or animal life or vegetation.
For technical information on the proposed permit, contact Darrin Pampaian of the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality’s Air Quality Division at (208) 373-0502 or darrin.pampaian@deq.idaho.gov. Submit written comments to Faye Weber, Air Quality Division, DEQ State Office, 1410 N. Hilton, Boise, Idaho 83706 (faye.weber@deq.idaho.gov).
