Malheur Federal Credit Union plans to open a new branch at 216 North Plymouth Ave. in New Plymouth by year’s end.

President and CEO Howard Benson confirmed the company is leasing 2,150 square feet of space inside the Internet Truck Stop facility. The full-service branch will be staffed with three to four people responsible for all banking transactions. It will also serve as New Plymouth’s first financial institution with a drive-up window and 24-hour ATM access.

The contractor is Maximum Heating and Cooling of New Plymouth, which has already begun site renovations. Work is expected to be completed in December.

Malheur Federal Credit Union was founded in 1957, and operates four other branches in the region.
