Boise law firm Angstman Johnson is acquiring the immigration practice of Congressman-elect Raul Labrador, R-Idaho, Angstman Johnson Managing Member T.J. Angstman said. The acquiring firm will take over all of Labrador’s cases and retain his staff.

Angstman Johnson will operate Labrador’s former practice as a separate entity, Accelerated Immigration. Attorney John Barrera and three staff will move from Labrador’s former practice in Nampa to the new entity, which will handle the immigration needs of clients who wish to become legal residents and workers.

Acclerated Immigration will occupy one of the two buildings Angstman Johnson has in the Lakeharbor complex off State Street. Angstman Johnson has six attorneys and eight support staff.

“We have a good business law practice, and this gave us an opportunity to expand into another area and take over a practice that had an equally good reputation in the legal community,” Angstman said.

The transaction is slated to close Dec. 24. Financial details were not released.
