Eckles named associate dean at Boise State
Blaine Eckles has been promoted to associate dean of students and director of student rights and responsibilities at Boise State University. His new position was announced by Vice President for Student Affairs Lisa Harris.
Eckles joined Boise State in 1995 as coordinator for disability services. In 2001, he took on the added responsibilities of student conduct and in 2005 he became the director of student rights and responsibilities, overseeing ASBSU Student Legal Advisory Services.
Eckles currently is restructuring the mission of his office and assisting the Division of Student Affairs in establishing a Dean of Students Office.
Everett promoted in BSU’s University Financial Services
Jared Everett has been promoted to Boise State University treasurer and executive director in University Financial Services, reporting to Jo Ellen DiNucci, associate vice president for finance and administration. In addition to his new role, he will continue his duties administering real estate services and business development.
Real Estate Services is the unit responsible for all university property purchases, sales and leases. Business Development is the review of project proposals, and public/private partnerships for which the university would be making a financial commitment or incurring a debt obligation.
Everett came to Boise State in 2003 from Arizona State University; he first served as parking director and most recently was executive director of finance, planning and safety in the division of Campus Planning and Facilities.
Architects group elects new officers for 2012
The American Institute of Architects – Idaho, Central Section has elected officers for 2012.
They include: James T. Glancey, president and partner at Glancey Rockwell Architects; Wayne Thowless, president-elect and senior project architect at LKV Architects; and John Day, secretary/treasurer and president at d+h+e architecture.
Whitney accepts post with State Board of Ed
Marilyn Whitney, former statewide community outreach coordinator for Idaho National Laboratory, has been named the new chief communications and legislative affairs officer for the Idaho State Board of Education.
Born and raised in Twin Falls, Whitney earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Boise State University and has extensive experience in communications and public affairs both in private industry and government. Prior to joining INL in 2006, she spent nearly 15 years in corporate communications at Micron Technology Inc. and two years at the Idaho Department of Fish and Game.
Chris Beaudoin joins SOVRN agency
SOVRN, a Boise-based marketing communications agency, recently added Chris Beaudoin to its staff. Prior to joining SOVRN, Beaudoin worked at Wirestone, where his responsibilities included animation and video production. He is especially experienced in the area of motion graphics.
He is a graduate of Boise State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in design. He brings to SOVRN more than five years experience.
Helmick-Coles joins Keller Williams Realty
Sheree Helmick-Coles a real estate sales professional, has joined the staff of Keller Williams Realty Boise Market Center. She has an extensive management background with the United States Postal Service.
Swope Investment Properties hires Mencacci
Joe Mencacci has joined Swope Investment Properties as a real estate agent. He has experience in construction and as a building contractor. At Swope, he will be specializing in residential income properties.
Department of Lands adds new PIO to staff
The Idaho Department of Lands has added Emily Anderson to its staff as public information officer. As PIO, Anderson will serve as the point of contact for news media organizations and will manage informational materials for the public on issues related to the agency’s work.
Anderson previously worked in the office of Gov. C.L. “Butch” Otter, where, since 2007, she served as deputy communications director and worked on policy and constituent issues related to Idaho’s natural resources and economic development agencies.
Sheldon receives travel agency awards
Penny Sheldon, owner of Penny Sheldon Travel in Boise, received two industry-related awards and was inducted into the Chairman’s Royal Club at Sandals Resorts International Tenth Annual Sandals Travel Agency Recognition Awards in December at Sandals Grande Riviera Beach & Villa Golf Resort in Jamaica.
Sheldon was given Best of the Best and Lifetime Achievement awards.
Archuletta named top SBA 504 producer
Capital Matrix recently recognized the individual lender that helped the most small businesses secure SBA 504 financing during the past year.
Justin Archuletta with Home Federal Bank was named the SBA 504 Banker of the Year as the individual lender who was successful in obtaining the most 504 financing approvals for area businesses.
