Boise State University and Alan and Wendy Pesky, founders of the Lee Pesky Learning Center, honored four K-12 teachers with the Pesky Award for Inspirational Teaching during BSU’s Winter Commencement Dec. 21.

The award recognizes Idaho K-12 teachers who make a difference in the lives of their students. Each teacher will receive $2,000, and their schools will each receive $500. The winners are Brenda Blanco, a ninth- through 12th-grade Spanish teacher at Xavier Charter School in Twin Falls; Kym Bridges, a 10th- and 11th-grade English teacher and head girls’ basketball coach at Boise High School; Sue Martin, a ninth- through 12th-grade teacher of journalism, yearbook, language and photography at Mountain Home High School; and Sharon Prindle, a fourth-grade teacher at Horizon Elementary School in Boise.
