Capitol Law Group welcomes new partner

Karen Silva has joined Capitol Law Group in Boise as a partner.

Silva is a civil litigation attorney focusing on family law issues including divorce, child custody modifications, adoptions, estate planning and criminal defense. She also has experience in insurance defense, employment law, business law and personal injury cases.

Silva most recently owned and managed Silva Law Offices for more than 10 years. She is a volunteer attorney with the Family Advocates CASA program, representing children in abusive or neglected situations. During law school, she was an intern in the University of Idaho’s clinical law program and argued before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. She also received a fellowship from NAPIL (now Equal Justice Works) to work with Idaho Legal Aid Services serving low-income and migrant farm workers in southern Idaho.

Silva earned her Bachelor of Arts in English, cum laude, from Boise State University. She earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Idaho College of Law.
