Meet the staff:
Anne Wallace Allen
As editor of the Idaho Business Review, Anne Wallace Allen is responsible for a small newsroom that creates a weekly print newspaper, a website that functions as a daily news source, and a series of bi-monthly public policy panel discussions. She’s been with the IBR since 2010. Anne has a BA in literature from Bard College in New York and an MA in public policy from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. She was born in Australia and raised in the Boston area.
Special Sections Editor
Jeanne Huff is the special sections editor. She produces the following special sections annually: Book of Lists, Women of the Year, CEO of Influence, Accomplished Under 40, The Complete Planners’ Guide for All Corporate Events, Idaho Top Projects, Excellence in Finance and Leaders in Law. She also produces consumer publications: Welcome to Boise featuring Dining Decisions, Idaho Heartland Living, Idaho Heartland Living Map (Cascade, Donnelly, McCall), and Travelog. In addition, Huff produces a number of publications in partnership with local entities such as the Downtown Business Association’s State of Downtown, the CCIM Resource Guide and Member Directory, and the Idaho Arts Commission Arts & Culture Map. She has two dogs – Payton and Puppet – one surly cat, Mister, and revels in any time she can spend spoiling her grandkids: Max, Julia, Violet and Sawyer.
Erika Sather-Smith is the web editor, leads manager and newsroom assistant. She produces and repurposes content for the web and social media and collects and formats public records from across the state including new business listings, building permits and court records, available here: http://idahobusinessreview.com/leads-from-public-records/. In addition, she produces people announcements, good works stories, out of the office photos and populates the business events calendar. Teya Vitu is a staff writer for IBR covering real estate, construction, transportation, and planning. Last year, he created as series of articles about the development of downtown Boise from the 1980s to the present. He has more than 20 years of daily newspaper experience in Arizona, Nevada and California. He is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley.
Benton Alexander Smith
Benton Alexander Smith covers the financial industry, business development and the legislature at IBR. He writes about Idaho business trends, regulations and laws, and profiles new tech businesses. Smith has a journalism degree from Boise State University and has written about crime, sports and the environment for publications including Greenbelt and the Times-News in Twin Falls.
