New account executive for CRI Advantage
Technology consulting and resource firm CRI Advantage hired Trevor Arana for the position of account executive. He is responsible for federal, state and local government sales.
Arana came to CRI from MPC Computers where he served in a variety of roles, including sales and sales management. He most recently served as senior manager of service and support.
Home Federal promotes two from within
Home Federal Bank promoted Matthew Wade and Chris Claiborne to branch managers. Wade will manage the bank’s Parkcenter office located at 871 E. Parkcenter Blvd. in Boise. Claiborne will manage the branch inside Wal-Mart at 8300 W. Overland Rd., Boise.
Wade and Claiborne will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operation of the branches.
Both new managers have come through the ranks of the bank’s sales team. Claiborne was most recently the sales associate at the bank’s Eagle office; Wade was most recently responsible for selling and presenting information regarding the bank’s health savings account line.
New F&M branch led by Treasure Valley resident
Tracy Silver, senior vice president and branch administrator for Farmers & Merchants, hired Judy Hall for the position of branch manager of the bank’s newest branch office at Vista and Cassia.
A longtime Treasure Valley resident, Hall has over 20 years of financial services experience. Prior to joining Farmers & Merchants, she served in a management position at a large financial institution.
The newly remodeled branch is located at 801 S. Vista Ave.
Moreton insurance firm selects new executives
Fred A. Moreton & Company, an insurance, surety, risk management and employee benefits brokerage firm, hired Daniel L. Jones as its new executive vice president, overseeing all operations for the company’s existing Salt Lake City, Boise, Denver and new Phoenix offices.
In addition, Harvey Knoll has been named president of Moreton & Co., Idaho.
Idaho Independant Bank hires new loan officer
Kurt R. Gustavel, president of Idaho Independent Bank, announced the appointment of Tina Parra as a real estate loan officer at IIB’s Star branch.
Parra has over four years of mortgage experience. Prior to joining IIB, she was a loan officer and insurance agent for a local mortgage company.
Parra was previously a volunteer firefighter with the New Meadows Volunteer Fire Department and a Little League baseball coach.
New designer for Boise’s Sprague Solutions
Sprague Solutions, a Boise–based interior design firm specializing in commercial interior design, added Kristin Kaufman to its professional design team.
Kaufman is an allied member of the American Society of Interior Designers and a member of Interior Designers of Idaho.
Her specialty is the integration of graphic design principles with creative space planning.
Treasure Valley attorneys among ‘Best Lawyers’
Seven attorneys from Holland & Hart’s Boise office are listed in the 2007 edition of The Best Lawyers in America book, which will be published late this fall.
The Holland & Hart attorneys listed as leading practitioners in their field include Steve Anderson for personal injury litigation, Walter Bithell for commercial litigation and personal injury litigation, Murray Feldman for environmental law, Fred Mack for corporate law and mergers and acquisitions, Bill Myers for environmental law, Larry Prince for bankruptcy and creditor-debtor rights law and Newal Squyres for commercial litigation.
Veteran mining executive selected by WGI
Washington Group International has appointed 30-year mining veteran Steve Kesler as executive vice president of business development for the company’s Mining Business Unit, headquartered in Denver.
Most recently Kesler was senior vice president of international business development for the business unit.
P.R. firm selected by band, tool maker, developer
The Boise public relations and communications firm Murphy Media Services recently signed three new clients. Tomboy Tools is a maker and distributor of ergonomically-designed hand and power tools for women. Kevin Kirk and Onomatopoeia are a well-known Idaho jazz band. The RB Companies are the developer of a shopping mall at the corner of Glenwood and Chinden in Garden City.
Company principal Patti Murphy will oversee the accounts.
Retired executives’ group elects three to board
The Treasure Valley Chapter of Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE) elected new officers. Norm Beckert was elected Chapter Chairperson. His responsibilities include managing the affairs of the chapter and expanding SCORE’s presence within the Treasure Valley. He has been a SCORE volunteer for five years. In his professional career he served as director of corporate procurement for Boise Cascade Corp.
Other SCORE Chapter officers include Russ Sloan, vice chairperson, and Hoyt Blackstock, treasurer.
SCORE is an organization of retired business professionals who volunteer their time and services to individuals interested in starting a small business, and also to existing business owners who may need guidance through a business problem.
Specialist joins staff at
Western Benefit Solutions
Ron Osborne and Ron Kennedy of Western Benefit Solutions have hired Sally Sturgeon as an employee benefits specialist. She will provide assistance and support to Employee Benefits Consultant John Gustin.
Sturgeon brings 16 years of experience in the insurance industry to her new position with WBS. For the past six years, she worked for Regence BlueShield of Idaho with responsibilities in sales support, customer service, underwriting and renewal/retention. Before that, Sturgeon worked for 10 years for John Alden Life Insurance , assisting with benefits, customer service, premium billing and renewal/retention.
WBS is Idaho’s largest employee benefit brokerage and consulting firm.
GMAC Real Estate firm hires new agent
Idaho Properties GMAC Real Estate has a new agent.
Alex Semchishin has experience as a painter and attended two years of college. He enjoys sports, boats and spending time with his wife and two children.
As a real estate agent, Semchishin hopes to work with good people and learn something new every day.
Perkins Coie hires new attorney from D.C.
Erika E. Malmen has joined the environment and natural resources practice at Perkins Coie as an associate. She practices in the firm’s Boise office.
Prior to joining the firm, Malmen worked for the U.S. Department of the Interior in Washington, D.C., serving first as an attorney for the Division of Land and Water and later as the acting special assistant to the solicitor. She also served as legal counsel to the Governor of Idaho’s Office of Species Conservation.
She joins a team of more than 45 attorneys focused on environmental and natural resource issues. The group has extensive experience, working with businesses, financial institutions, trade associations, nonprofit organizations, government agencies and individuals to address environmental issues throughout the United States and abroad.
Malmen received her law degree from the University of Denver College of Law and her undergraduate degree in speech communication from the University of Utah.
