Fraise named interim director of Boise Airport

Boise Mayor David Bieter has named Garry Fraise interim director of the Boise Airport and announced a nationwide search for a new airport director to replace John Anderson, who announced his retirement last week.
Fraise was hired as a programs analyst for the airport in 1994 and since then has served as its security/operations manager, assistant director and most recently as deputy director.
The city of Boise will begin an immediate search for a new airport director, a process that will include input from the Airport Commission, members of the Boise City Council and city staff.

Hobdey new regional economist for SE Idaho

Scott Hobdey, a veteran Idaho Commerce and Labor unemployment insurance tax representative with experience in business and academics, is the new regional economist for southeastern Idaho.
Hobdey, who takes over from Shelley Allen, has extensive contacts throughout the region.
For the past 18 years, Hobdey has been a tax representative in the department’s Unemployment Insurance Division, stationed in Pocatello. Before that, he was a cost accountant for the J.R. Simplot Co. in southeastern Idaho and then an assistant athletic director at Idaho State

It doesn’t cost any money to convince people of this: the city of Boise needs a stronger airport with improved passenger and freight access to grow its economy. And that cannot happen unless there is a change in the state’s Constitution.
