WDSGlobal continues Boise expansion

WDSGlobal by the end of the year plans to recruit 300 more people to work its call center on Kimball Place in Boise, the company said in a release. WDS employs nearly 1,000 call center agents in Boise, where it opened in February in the 65,000-square-foot building that housed a Capital One call center previously.

England-based WDS, a major employer in Kirkland, Wash., provides support and management services to clients in the wireless communications industry.

The company recently appointed Tod Wingfield to serve as general manager. Previously he worked at Citi.

WDS said it hired Wingfield to manage the Boise site’s “rapid expansion,” lead the local management team and oversee service quality.

“As general manager, I’ll be dedicated to creating a workplace that not only meets our customers’ expectations for quality but one that allows employees to grow and develop new and exciting careers in the wireless industry,” he said in the release. “I want to put Boise on the map as a center of expertise for wireless device support.”

WDSGlobal CEO David Ffoulkes-Jones said the Boise center’s success over a short time frame “has been phenomenal. The city is a natural fit, offering a skilled base of employees that compliments our commitment to expertise and quality of service perfectly.”
