The Idaho Division of Tourism on Feb. 9 announced that it is adding an eastern Loop to the Idaho Golf Trail. It is the fourth loop on the now 14-course Trail.

The Eastern loop encompasses Headwaters Golf Club at Teton Springs Lodge and Spa and Teton Reserve Golf Course, both in Victor, and Pinecrest Golf Course in Idaho Falls.

Adding the Eastern Loop will help to enhance Idaho’s image as a destination for vacations that feature or include golf, state tourism officials said.

“I love the challenge and beauty of Teton Springs and cannot wait to try out the Reserve and Pinecrest, both of which come highly recommended by local golfers,” said Karen Ballard, administrator for the Idaho Division of Tourism.

Ballard said in an interview that recently, more golf groups have shown interest in covering more of the Idaho Golf Trail. The Trail has “elevated the perception of the quality of our golf” and has given courses on the Trail an additional element in their marketing, she said.

The Idaho Golf Trail is a compilation of unique courses that appeal to destination golfers, and is bundled with lodging options located here. The Trail combines high-quality golf courses with many scenic byways, rivers and lakes that visitors can explore, the Idaho Department of Commerce statement said.

Existing loops on the Idaho Golf Trail are:

• Northern - Stoneridge, Circling Raven Golf Club, Coeur d’Alene Resort, University of Idaho Golf Course

• Central - Whitetail Golf Course, MeadowCreek Golf Resort, Osprey Meadows at Tamarack Resort, Jug Mountain Ranch

• Southern -Falcon Crest Golf Club, Banbury Golf Club, Sun Valley Resort

A brochure featuring the new Eastern loop is available here.

It doesn’t cost any money to convince people of this: the city of Boise needs a stronger airport with improved passenger and freight access to grow its economy. And that cannot happen unless there is a change in the state’s Constitution.

I am not the first to note or believe that mean people …, well, create vacuums. I am a social scientist by training and work, and have long-proclaimed how much I “love people.” I am loving you far less each news cycle.
