FAQs

Below are frequently asked questions about the Accomplished Under 40 program. If your questions are not answered below, please contact Sean Evans at 208-336-3768 or at sean.evans@idahobusinessreview.com.

What is Accomplished Under 40?

2012 is the 13th year of this event, which recognizes 40 local business and professional leaders who have achieved success before the age of 40. Each honoree is profiled in a special supplement with a photo and biography. In addition, honorees and previous classes of Accomplished Under 40 attend a networking and awards dinner event.

What are the qualifications for the Accomplished Under 40 awards?

Nominees will be selected based on professional accomplishments, leadership skills, community involvement and overall long term goals.  Prospective honorees must be under the age of 40 as of May 1, 2012.

How do I nominate someone?

Click here to submit your nomination.  If you’d prefer to fill out the application for the nominee, please click here to retrieve the application form.

Can past recipients be nominated again?

No, previous Accomplished Under 40 recipients are not eligible.

I want to nominate someone, but I’d like to remain anonymous. Is that possible?

Yes, leave the bottom portion of the nomination form blank. Please note we only release nominator information to the nominee.

Does it help if many people nominate the same person?

No. Nominees are chosen based on the information in their application packet that is sent to our selection committee, not based on popularity.

Can I just call or send an e-mail with the name of the person I’d like to nominate?

You may send an email, but to insure we receive it, please use the correct form, available here.

What do I do if I’ve been nominated?

You will receive an application form upon the receipt of your nomination. Please fill it out entirely. If you have misplaced your application form, or need a new one, please click here.

What type of documents will you need for the application?

An ideal application packet consists of a filled-out application form, current resume, one to three letters of recommendation, any other material you feel appropriate to support your nomination – this includes anything from pictures, videos, articles, award recognitions, non-profit involvement, certificates of accomplishments, among many other items.

Who should write my letters of recommendation and where can they be submitted?

Anyone you feel would be appropriate to promote you, your personality and/or your successes. This may be a current or previous employer, colleague, friend, industry professional, community leader, employee, band mate, parent or sibling, professor, etc. The letters can be sent either directly to Sean Evans from you or the person who’s writing it or it can submitted along with your entire application packet.

Who is on the selection committee?

Previous year’s Accomplished Under 40 recipients. If you are a previous recipient and you would like to be a judge for the 2012 class, please email sean.evans@idahobusinessreview.com.

When will the recipients be notified?

The list of honorees will be notified by email or phone and announced on the Idaho Business Review website in April 2012.
