We all know people who we consider model leaders – outstanding individuals who have excelled professionally and personally – and serve as an inspiration to those around them. We need your help to find them.
For the ninth year, the Idaho Business Review, in partnership with the University of Idaho and Sterling Savings Bank, is seeking nominations for the Idaho Accomplished Under 40 program.
Nomination deadline is April 4.
Nominees are judged on their business and community/civic achievements, leadership experience and long-term goals. An independent panel will judge each nominee’s application and determine the top 40 achievers.
Past honorees have included lawyers, architects, engineers, physicians, brokers, bankers, journalists and educators. Many have come from the nonprofit sector, including Monica Hopkins, a 2007 recipient. Hopkins serves as the director of development and communications for Friends of Zoo Boise. Her noteworthy background includes work in the areas of social justice, family planning, environment preservation and youth mentoring.
Equally rousing is Katie Vanderzwan, another of last year’s honorees. As the president of Junior Achievement of Idaho, Vanderzwan serves as the point person for the organization’s many activities, including fundraising, event-planning, program training and volunteer-coordinating.
Then there’s Erin King. This ’07 Accomplished Under 40 awardee and branch manager for Mountain West Bank in Meridian spends most of her non-work hours volunteering on several nonprofit boards, including United Way and the Boys and Girls Club of Ada County. Dedicated to furthering her education, King also makes time to pursue her MBA degree at Boise State University.
These exceptional individuals’ motivational stories would never have been told without someone taking the time to nominate them for the Accomplished Under 40 program – people just like you.
Forms can be found online at www.idahobusiness.net. Eligible nominees must be under 40 as of the nomination deadline, and reside and work in Idaho. Self-nominations are accepted.
All nominees will be sent an application form and required to return it with required attachments such as letters of recommendation and resumé to the IBR by April 14 for consideration.
The 40 honorees will be recognized at a June 20 awards luncheon at the Boise Centre on the Grove and profiled in a magazine publishing on June 23.
