Boise Airport director elected to airports board

Boise Airport Director Richard A. McConnell has been elected as a new member of the board of directors of Airports Council International – North America.

ACI-NA is an international aviation trade association representing 374 airports in the United States and Canada. Its mission is to advocate policies and provide services that strengthen the ability of air carrier airports to serve their passengers, customers and communities.

“The authoritative voice that ACI-NA provides for member airports with government agencies, the media and transportation industries worldwide has allowed Boise Airport to maintain its economic footing during these past few difficult years,” McConnell said. “I am pleased to have been chosen to add our commitment to excellence and to promote business opportunities which are available throughout the Northwest region.”

McConnell will serve a three-year term as one of 14 member airport directors. ACI-NA’s members enplane more than 95 percent of the domestic and virtually all the international airline passenger and cargo traffic in North America, according to a press release from the organization.
