N. Idaho aircraft company announces layoffs

Sandpoint-based Quest Aircraft Co. says it has laid off 22 of its 303 full-time employees in northern Idaho.
Quest CEO Paul Schaller says the slow economy forced the decision.
He says the layoffs began Jan. 28 and employees will be eligible for rehire when the economy picks up.
Schaller says most of the job cuts were in production, but also include employees in engineering, administration and quality control.
Schaller says the company will continue to produce three Kodiak planes a month, and has a waiting list for the planes of 18 months.
