CEO of Twin Falls hospital resigns after three years

The CEO of St. Luke’s Magic Valley Medical Center has resigned after nearly three years with the hospital.

Mark Schwartz resigned April 19 for unspecified reasons, according to the Times-News. The hospital board held a closed-door meeting that night and board chairman Russ Newcomb said Schwartz’s departure had been discussed for a couple of weeks.

Schwartz helped St. Luke’s Magic Valley through a number of issues, including the ongoing construction of a new hospital building in northwest Twin Falls and a disagreement with Twin Falls County over the lease and remodeling of a downtown clinic building.

Pate said he would fill in for Schwartz over the next several weeks before naming an interim leader for the hospital.
