The Idaho Conference on Recreation and Tourism began May 4 at the Doubletree Hotel Boise Riverside in Boise.
The three-day conference is designed for Idaho lodging property owners and managers, outfitters and guides, and other tourism industry professionals and recreation providers throughout the state to come together to share ideas and learn about new opportunities to market themselves.
“The Conference on Tourism is always a great way to network with others, see what’s new in the industry and learn about what the Division of Tourism is doing to promote Idaho,” said Karen Ballard, administrator for the Idaho Division of Tourism Development.
This year’s program will focus on our brand “Idaho…Adventures in Living” and will include various breakout sessions. Participants will have the opportunity to tour several regional attractions including the Snake River Canyon Scenic Byway and Warm Springs Golf Course, as well as try a variety of fabulous local Idaho food.
Keynote speakers include, Matt Dickman, Techno/Marketer; Dean Reeder, National Tourism Director of the National Park Service; and Emily Sheffield, Professor of Recreation and Parks Management at California State University.
