Intermountain Gas Co. plans a ribbon-cutting event at 11:30 a.m. May 27 at its customer service center in southeast Meridian near Interstate 84. The center is at 1937 S. Bonito Way in El Dorado Business Campus.
The center is expected to employ 140 in handling customer service functions for Intermountain Gas parent MDU Resources Utility Group, Intermountain Gas said in a release. The center will cover about 950,000 customers across eight states.
Scheduled to speak at the event are Idaho Gov. C.L. “Butch” Otter, Meridian Mayor Tammy de Weerd, Boise Mayor Dave Bieter, and MDU Resources Utility Group President and CEO Dave Goodin.
Intermountain Gas is occupying about 22,000 square feet of the 31,000-square-foot building, which MDU owns, said Steve Vlassek of El Dorado developer W.H. Moore Co.
