Sharon Dollinger, vice president of Zions Bank’s Women’s Financial Group in Boise, has been honored by the U.S. Small Business Administration as the 2009 Small Business Financial Services Champion of the Year in both the Boise District Office and the SBA’s Region X, which encompasses Idaho, Oregon, Washington and Alaska. She accepted the award June 24 at the Small Business Awards Luncheon in Boise.
The Financial Services Champion of the Year award recognizes an individual who helps small businesses to increase usefulness and availability of accounting or financial services and promote small business above and beyond the call of their professional duties and responsibilities.
“Sharon has played an important role in solidifying Zions Bank’s standing as the top SBA 7(a) lender in Idaho’s Boise District for the past eight consecutive years,” said Zions Bank President and Chief Executive Officer A. Scott Anderson. “I’m proud to see that her dedication and commitment to helping entrepreneurs has resulted in this prestigious regional recognition.”
Dollinger, based in Boise at the Ninth and Main office, has 27 years of banking experience and has worked for Zions Bank for six years. As manager of the Women’s Financial Group in Boise, she specializes in providing resources to women-owned businesses to help them meet personal and business financial goals.
Nationally, the Women’s Financial Group has been recognized by the American Bankers Association for its innovative approach to the women’s market. And locally, Dollinger facilitates the selection and distribution of Zions Bank’s “Smart Women Grant” program that provides seed money to support small business startup and expansion in Idaho.
