Jack in the Box construction starts at Vista Village

Construction of a Jack in the Box restaurant started recently on the east side of Vista Avenue in Boise, in the southeast corner of the Vista Village shopping center.

Vista Village owner Day Realty Co. sold the 14,000-square-foot parcel to Jack in the Box, which is coordinating the restaurant’s design with recent remodeling at Vista Village, said Donna Day Jacobs, the shopping center’s property manager.

Wood corbel awnings and cultured stone are among features of the 2,505-square-foot building, said Stacie Irish, project manager with general contractor K2 Construction, Boise. K2 aims to complete the building in mid-November, she said.

A Boise building permit values the project at $350,000.

Vista Village owners are pleased to add a national tenant, Jacobs said. The 85,000-square-foot shipping center is home to many local businesses, and a few national and regional retailers.

The neighborhood shopping center, on Vista between Kootenai and Cassia streets, was remodeled in 2009. This year, projects include interior build-outs for some new tenants and upgrades to access roads, she said.
