AmericanWest Bank helps Cd’A foundation
The Home Partnership Foundation, a part of the Idaho Housing and Finance Association, was recently awarded a $2,500 contribution from AmericanWest Bank. These funds are being directed by St. Vincent de Paul North Idaho, allowing them to help more North Idaho families on the brink of homelessness through the H.E.L.P. Center at 201 E. Harrison Ave. in Coeur d’Alene.
This past year alone, the Foundation – the state’s only 501(c)(3) housing foundation dedicated to helping those in need – granted $735,000 to support homeless shelters, provide financial counseling and budgeting skills to prevent and avoid foreclosure and eviction actions, and to help qualified individuals purchase homes.
AmericanWest Bank is a community bank, headquartered in Spokane, with branches in the Coeur d’Alene-Hayden area and nine financial centers in North Idaho.

Idaho Falls-based Portage, Inc. recognized nationally
Portage, Inc. was recently recognized in two national publications: Engineering News Record (ENR) and Inc. magazine.
ENR ranked Portage at Number 45 in its listing of 200 top environmental firms and at No. 7 in the category of top nuclear waste companies. ENR rankings are based on gross revenues reported in 2009 for providing environmental services and products to domestic and international markets. ENR is the national news magazine for the engineering and construction industry. It has been issuing the Top 200 Environmental Firms rankings annually since 1996.
Inc. magazine ranked Portage at Number 585 on its annual list of top 5000 companies. The Inc. 5000 is an exclusive ranking of the nation’s fastest-growing private companies. It is ranked according to percentage revenue growth over the past three years.
