Colliers names regional managing director

Colliers International has appointed Scott Coombs as its regional managing director, overseeing management, recruitment and business development operations throughout the Northwest, including Idaho.
Coombs will be based in Colliers’ Seattle office. Most recently, he served as the executive vice president of brokerage in the Seattle office of GVA Kidder Matthews. In addition to holding multiple senior management positions within several Washington real estate companies, he was vice president and branch manager of Colliers International’s Bellevue office for eight years.

Pennington promoted at Cougar Mountain Software

Cougar Mountain Software, a developer of accounting software, has promoted Lori Pennington to director of product management. She was previously senior product manager.
In her new role, she leads a team that conducts market research to determine new products and functionality that are needed to bring new accounting software customers on board. From there she and her team design innovative software, new products and enhancements to meet market and customer demands.
She began working with Cougar Mountain Software in 2003 as a technical writer and later advanced to the role of team leader.

Broughton named city finance, admin. director

Mayor David Bieter has appointed Deborah Broughton, a Seattle-based executive with nearly 30 years of public service experience, as the City of Boise’s new director of the Department of Finance and Administration. Broughton replaces Jef Faw, who retired in May after five years with the city.
Broughton brings extensive public service experience to the position. She served for six years as deputy director of Seattle Public Utilities, mentoring a team of 170-plus employees in the Finance and Budget, Human Resources and Information Services divisions. She was interim executive director of the Kitsap Consolidated Housing Authority for three years, performing critical organizational and financial assessment and strategic planning, among other responsibilities.

Cacopardo joins Valtrend

Joe Cacopardo, a mergers and acquisitions specialist, has joined Valtrend.
Cacopardo was co-founder of M&SD Corp., an independent consulting firm specializing in information management, which was acquired by EDS, a General Motors’ subsidiary.
At Valtrend, he will assist business owners in exiting their businesses by creating a competitive market for the business.
He will also assist prospective purchasers of businesses by uncovering the hidden “for sale” market.

Eliot Management Group selects Magley as G.M.

Eliot Management Group, a national provider of credit card processing and check services, has named David Magley as its new general manager.
After graduating from Kansas University, Magley played professional basketball in the NBA before spending a decade as owner of a sales management company in the building industry. Most recently, he spent 10 years in the merchant services industry as a regional sales executive at both Lynk / RBSLynk and Moneris Solutions.
Eliot Management Group is based in Salt Lake City and has offices throughout the U.S., including Boise.

College of Idaho hires four new staff members

Lisa DeDapper has been hired as a major gifts officer at The College of Idaho. DeDapper comes to C of I from Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwest Idaho, where she served as CEO from 2005-2010.
Ryan Aldrich has been hired as an assistant director of admissions at the college. Aldrich comes to C of I from Vail Mountain School in Colorado, where he served as director of college counseling.
Will Fowler has been hired as an admissions counselor. He is a graduate of Treasure Valley Community College and C of I, where he received a degree in psychology and theater. Fowler also received a master’s degree in fine arts from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and spent six years working as an actor in New York City.
Kinga Britschgi has been hired as an academic assistant for Boone Hall at the college. She comes to C of I from Intermountain Gas Co., where she worked as an administrative assistant for the past 10 years.
