Icon Credit Union moves, expands in CDA

Icon Credit Union in early October moved its Coeur d’Alene branch from North Government Way to a larger building at 1336 W. Kathleen Ave., Senior Vice President Karma Samartino said.

She would not disclose the purchase price but said Icon spent more than $40,000 on remodeling and fixtures. The new branch features an updated floor plan and look inside, and two new electronic, monument-style signs outside. Boise-based Icon bought the building from Numerica Credit Union, Spokane.

The previous branch was inhibiting growth and lacked a drive-through banking lane, Samartino said. Icon added a full-time employee to staff the new drive-through, and plans to add a mortgage loan officer and a financial adviser soon, she said.

“We really wanted to make a more inviting, professional statement in the community,” she said.

Scott Kinsey manages the branch, which employs six.

The federal credit union operates five branches. It serves workers in Ada, Canyon, Kootenai and Shoshone counties in Idaho as well as Union County, Ore. It changed its name from Idahy in January.

About Brad Carlson

  1. I just added this weblog to my feed reader, great stuff. Can’t get enough!

  2. Unlikely symbolism here – when working together, each herself’s “faction” contributes to an extraordinary “whole.”
