The Idaho Youth Ranch plans to move its Nampa thrift store to the 12,000-square-foot former Sports Authority building, 1031 Caldwell Blvd., by late December or early January following renovations.
The new store will provide a larger selection, offer a larger parking lot and better access, spokesman Ralph Poore said. The store is on a two-way section of Caldwell Boulevard. The current store is on a one-way section.
Staff will be added as demand warrants, he said. The current store employs six.
The Idaho Youth Ranch, a youth and family services organization, operates 27 thrift stores, a ranch and shelter homes. Poore said sales have performed well during the economic downturn.
Sports Authority moved to the shopping center at the Interstate 84 Garrity Boulevard interchange. The Youth Ranch is expected to sell its smaller building at 135 Caldwell Blvd after the move.
