After months of uncertainty, Tamarack ski operations will start Dec. 20.
On Dec. 6, U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Terry Myers approved a request by the Tamarack Municipal Association to begin lift operations, including preparation of lodge facilities. The TMA has already hired 65 employees to begin maintenance and offer food and beverage services.
“This is not only exciting for us, but for people in Donnelly and Cascade that are going to benefit from these employment opportunities,” said Dr. Michael Carey, TMA board member. “Everyone, including the judge saw the value in allowing us to operate.”
The approval came as part of hearings in Boise to determine whether Tamarack should continue with Chapter 11 reorganization, or move to Chapter 7 proceedings, which would allow a trustee to liquidate it. Testimony is scheduled to continue Dec. 7.
