Idaho revenue beats forecasts again in November

Idaho ended November with more tax revenue than forecast.

The state Division of Financial Management reports Idaho has taken in $973.2 million July 1. That figure is nearly $40 million ahead of projections that were significantly lowered in August.

The Times-News reports Idaho’s tax revenue last month was $8.2 million more than the amount forecast.

November was the fifth straight month that Idaho has ended with more tax revenue than forecast in the current fiscal year.

  1. The Green Shoots of Spring. Sadly, employment is not picking up, but employment is a lagging indicator of economic performance. Nonetheless, if we continue taking in more than projected, employment will follow, and again, improvement will continue. Then perhaps the legislature will return funding to schools, the most important hope for our future.
