Knipe Land Company receives national recognition

Knipe Land Company of Boise has been named one of the country’s best real estate brokerage firms.

Knipe Land Company tied with 18 other firms for the first place ranking by Land Report Magazine. Winners were awarded based on closed sales. 60 firms total made the ranking, President John Knipe said.

Founded in 1944, under the name Robison Realty, the firm specializes in selling land for commercial, agricultural real estate, land development, timber land and legacy ranches; which are ranches held and passed down from generation to generation.

Surprisingly, Knipe said there is more interest and sales on higher end “trophy-type” properties, including a $13.5 million ranch northwest of McCall the company recently closed on.

Lack of available credit remains a problem for buyers.

“Rates may be low, but financing, especially on land that is reasonable or available is hard to find.”

Most farmers and ranchers have about 90 percent equity in their land, and most sales are cash or a combination of cash and some owner financing, Knipe said.
