Julie DeLorenzo appointed to Idaho Transportation Board

Gov. C.L. “Butch” Otter has appointed Julie DeLorenzo, a noted Boise Realtor, to the District 3 vacancy on the Idaho Transportation Board. She succeeds Jerry Whitehead, who was elevated to chairman of the seven-member board in January.

DeLorenzo is on the board of directors for the National Association of Realtors and the Federal Housing Policy and Public Policy Coordinating Committees. She is a past president of the Idaho Association of Realtors and has worked closely with members of Idaho’s congressional delegation on housing-related issues.

“I am honored and humbled to be appointed to this position by Governor Otter,” DeLorenzo said. “I look forward to working with the board to enhance Idaho’s transportation system and our economy.”

A Democrat, DeLorenzo served three years on the Women’s Council of Realtors National Executive Committee and as the Region 8 vice president. She is president-elect for the Women’s & Children’s Alliance against domestic violence, and previously served on the Boise School District Facilities Committee and nine years on the Idaho Human Rights Education Center’s board of directors.

DeLorenzo, 53, and her husband Tom have four children and one grandchild.
