Wells Fargo has named Don Melendez the bank’s Idaho regional president effective Aug. 1. In this position, he is responsible for overseeing 92 banking stores, $4.5 billion in deposits and more than 900 employees in the Idaho region, which includes Idaho; Spokane, Wash.; and Baker City, Ore.
Melendez was most recently the community banking president for border banking in Arizona, the lower Rio Grande Valley, and Laredo, Texas. He has more than 30 years of experience in the industry, and has worked for Wells Fargo since 1997.
Melendez is president of the Wells Fargo Sun Bowl, a member of the National Rural Housing Conference and active in several community organizations in the El Paso, Texas, area. He earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in finance from the University of Texas at Austin.
