Idaho Water Resource Board elects 2013 officers

The Idaho Water Resource Board has elected new officers for 2013.

Former Vice Chairman Roger Chase is the new chairman. Chase has been on the board since March 2009. He was mayor of Pocatello from 2002 to 2010 and was on the Pocatello City Council from 1990 to 1997. He was council president in 1996 and 1997. Chase served in the state Legislature from 1997 to 2001.

Peter Van Der Meulen is the new vice chairman. Van Der Meulen has been on the board since April 2011. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and earned his Bachelor of Science in engineering from Stanford University. He was the founder, president and CEO of Power Engineers until 1999.

Bob Graham was re-elected secretary. Graham has been on the board since July 1995 and has been secretary since March 2007. He is retired from the U.S. Forest Service and was county commissioner for Boundary County. He also served as chairman of Boundary County’s commission and on the North Water and Sewer District Board. He is a representative of the Idaho Homeland Security Bureau and the incident commander for emergencies in Boundary County.
