The Idaho Department of Lands has named area managers for its St. Joe Supervisory Area Office in St. Maries and its Payette Lakes Supervisory Area Office in McCall, starting April 14.
Richard Furman will be supervisory area manager at the St. Joe office. He will oversee the management of state endowment trust land; fire protection on state, private and federal land; and Forest Practices Act compliance assistance for logging operators. He has more than 37 years of experience with IDL as a senior forest and resource supervisor and as a program specialist for the IDL endangered species program. Furman earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in forest resources from University of Idaho.
Scott Corkill will be supervisory area manager in the Payette Lakes office. He will oversee the management of public trust lands, issuance of dock permits and submerged land leases for Payette Lake marinas, management of state endowment trust land, administration of laws related to mining projects, and assistance to forest landowners. Corkill has worked as a lands resource supervisor at IDL for eight years. Before joining IDL, he operated his family farm in the Palouse for several years.
