Janice Brown, executive director of Yellowstone Business Partnership, is stepping down effective June 30. She told the board of directors that she wanted to scale back as she nears retirement age and allow the partnership to bring in new leadership.
Brown has been executive director at the partnership since 2003. She worked at its Bozeman, Mont., headquarters for four years before opening the partnership’s first field office in Idaho Falls in 2007.
Brown was instrumental in launching several of the partnership’s flagship programs, including UnCommon Sense, the Greater Yellowstone Framework for Sustainable Development and the Greater Yellowstone Regional Transportation Cooperative dba Linx. She will continue to work as interim general manager of the Linx Regional Co-op, based in Idaho Falls.
The partnership’s board of directors will launch an executive search process at its 10th anniversary conference May 20 to 22 at Jackson Lake Lodge in Grand Teton National Park. The directors hope to have a new executive director hired by September.
Heather Higinbotham, the partnership’s director of sustainability programs, will be the partnership’s interim director effective July 1.
