Scot Oliver is new Idaho Smart Growth director

Scot Oliver, executive director of Idaho Smart GrowthScot Oliver is the new executive director of Idaho Smart Growth, a statewide nonprofit organization. He fills the position vacated by Rachel Winer, who now works for the Idaho Youth Ranch.

Oliver worked for several years as special projects manager at Capital City Development Corp., Boise’s redevelopment agency. He worked on sustainable development policy, neighborhood design, environmental awareness, arts and cultural investments, public relations, and other projects. Before that, he worked for universities and nonprofits in Idaho, Appalachia and elsewhere.

Oliver has served on the boards of the U.S. Green Building Council Idaho Chapter and Radio Boise. He is a LEED-Accredited Professional and earned his bachelor’s degree at Guilford College and his master’s in architecture at University of Idaho.
