Idaho STAR motorcycle safety director wins national award

Idaho Star Portraits,klStacey “Ax” Axmaker, director of Idaho’s STAR Motorcycle Safety Program, won the National Association of State Motorcycle Safety Administrators 2013 Outstanding Contribution Award.

The award recognizes individuals who have had a positive effect on motorcycle safety at a national, state or local level. The award goes to one person each year.

Axmaker has been a motorcycle safety instructor since 1991. He was operations manager for the Team Oregon Motorcycle Safety Program from 1997 to 2002. He was training manager for STAR from 2006 to 2008, when he was promoted to director.
