Boise State names research computing director

Brian McDevitt, OIT, studio portraitBrian McDevitt has been promoted from associate director for technical operations within Boise State University’s Office of Information Technology to director of the new Research Computing Department.

This new office was established to centralize and improve support for the university’s cyberinfrastructure computing assets.

McDevitt started working for Boise State in 1996 as a network engineer. Before that, he worked as a programmer and in system support for the Department of Energy and the Department of the Interior in Washington, D.C., for eight years. He is retired from the military.

McDevitt earned his degree from University of Maryland.
